Italian Sub Sandwich


  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread or sub rolls
  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced mortadella
  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced genoa salami
  • 1/4 lb thinly sliced capicola
  • 1/4 lb sliced provolone cheese
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Cut the Italian bread or sub rolls in half lengthwise.

  2. Layer the mortadella, prosciutto, genoa salami, and capicola on the bottom half of the bread.

  3. Layer the sliced provolone cheese on top of the meats.

  4. Add the sliced tomato, red onion, and pepperoncini on top of the cheese.

  5. Drizzle the olive oil and red wine vinegar over the vegetables, and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Place the top half of the bread over the sandwich, and press down gently.

  7. Cut the sandwich into smaller portions, and serve immediately.
