Philly Cheese Steak and Homemade French Fries

Ingredients for Philly Cheese Steak:

  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4-6 slices of provolone cheese
  • 4-6 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Ingredients for French Fries:

  • 4-5 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start by making the french fries. Preheat your oven to 425°F.

  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips. Soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes.

  3. Drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean towel.

  4. Toss the fries with the vegetable oil and salt in a mixing bowl, making sure they are evenly coated.

  5. Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.

  6. While the fries are cooking, make the Philly Cheese Steak. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  7. Add the vegetable oil to the skillet, then add the sliced onions and peppers. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.

  8. Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the steak is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

  9. Once the steak is cooked, add the slices of provolone cheese on top and let them melt.

  10. Toast the hoagie rolls, then spoon the steak and vegetable mixture onto each roll. Serve with the homemade french fries and enjoy!
