Chocolate Chip Cookies


  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  10. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and let them cool completely.
